About:

Chinese alchemy, or Waidan, is quite similar to western alchemy in a lot of ways. The 5 elements, fire, water, earth, metal and wood relate to each other in various ways. The generative cycle describes elements that feed into each other in a positive way, while the controlling cycle describes how elements overcome one another. Unlike western alchemy, the 5 elements do not describe physical objects, per se, but rather states of being or change. A related idea within Daoist mysticism is how the dual aspects of Yin and Yang relate to this process. Yang, the white part of the Yin-Yang symbol, represents the generative cycle, forward progression and growth. Yin represents contemplation, coolness and the controlling cycle. I have integrated these concepts into a puzzle game, where you must synthesize and transmute various elements while keeping your use of Yin and Yang energy balanced. I hope you enjoy!
